Details

After the release of the maxi « Just Mix It » recorded with Trip Do Brazils rythm section ( Bahia Records - Cyberprod ), the french duo ELEA presents its new album, « License to feel », released in Ibiza. Their previous LP, « Love is in me », had taken us through the half-light zones of trip hop and of drum and bass; the duo today, with License to feel offers us a solar album open to the world. Resident band each summer in the clubs of the island since 6 years, Elea Goa and Swann have developped in their music a sunny vibe, and ethnic lounge spirit, caracteristic of the Balearic islands. Out of seven months of recording, for this second opus, eleven tracks have been retained as a must for both composition and artistic production. We find among these tracks songs whose themes evolve from love to a mystic vision of human relations, as well as mixes in which the music itself becomes experimentation in sound. The album is a voyage through the world; we recognise colours, alternately Brazilian (in License to Feel, Day Doo Dam, or Just Mix It), Indian (with the use of a sitar in U.N.I.), Oriental (with Transkalimba, compiled several times), African (in The Seventh Moon), or even Celtic in The Right Place, a magnificent piece in the pure psychedelic rock tradition of the 70s, one of the major influences on the protagonists of ELEA. In keeping with their habit, in License to Feel there is a subtle combination of acoustic sounds (guitar, piano, bass, drums), vintage (Fender Rhodes, Minimoog), ethnic (percussion, flute, balafo), and running through it as current that electro touch – which is also characteristic of their live.Back from tours in USA, Spain, Italy, France (more than 300 concerts), the group has made a name for itself, on the international scene. Their on-stage strength makes them one of the rare electronic lives awesomely effective before their audiences, and particularly creative and original at the same time.
