Details

The debut album by the Electric Penguins, Goodbye From The Electric Penguins was a simple idea; to make a modern record using only 70s instruments - sounds. No fancy programming, no surround sound, no cutnpaste – just three guys in a studio doing it old skool with Moogs, Mellotrons, Farfisa organs and guitars. The end result is an impressive blend of melodic invention and musicianship – apart from a basic step-sequencer and mono drum box, all instruments were played live. From the opening Gelb with its piano-in-an-empty-room vibe to the closer Too Far with an aching vocal reminiscent of Sigur Ross, G.F.T.E.P. is a seamless musical tour de force which will be essential listening for anyone who is into Eno, Pink Floyd, Kraftwerk, Sigur Ross, Flaming Lips etc.
