Alex Tronic Records are proud to be releasing the third Marvin Wilson Album. Its the second on CD format after the excellent debut Being Here. The Scots based dance label put Ignite was download only but due to popular demand the man is back on cd.Marvin says of the album Its kind of like a defiant statement really... a celebration and a warning...i think we are becoming more passive... less involved..i think we need to be involved. to express and create its so important. I remember for a few weeks before starting recording feeling disenchanted and angry etc, a lot to do with the stupidity going on all around,so its probably true to say those feelings carried into the recordings.i suppose the title could be interpreted in a sort of heavenly peacetype way... i think maybe more Dantes inferno really.!.So perhaps the title is more like a threat..! a threat against mediocrity, the mainstream and the fear inducing media....oh yeah and C.G.I..! BACKGROUND...I suppose Ive always been drawn to music that falls outside of the mainstream,i dislike all that cynical mega budget nonsense...we deserve better.! It also appeals to me to hear and see artists work without any outside interference..INFLUENCES and IDEAS...well..the way you feel when you hit the record button is unavoidable i guess..! I was also i remember watching some of my favorite films and thinking how they can make you feel..not nostalgia for when you might have first seen them, but that feeling that makes you keep going back to watch again, for me its the same with music and sound...always returning..RECORDING...I think it took about ten days, working everyday..the tracks were recorded in the order they appear on the CD,it just felt right to do it that way.! Ive built a system that Im happy with..lots of immediate and real time control without multi track or mixing..just as it should be..!Marvin Wilson July 2009
