Alex Tronic Records is pleased to announce the release of the first enhanced CD of their repertoire. This is just a fancy title for our first CD with video content and we are pleased its with one of our favourite artists Snakestyle. Snakestyle is the work of Matthew Leigh Embleton who debuted on ATR with the beautiful Turning Point album. This time he teams up with long time collaborator Sweetleaf musician Chris Jordan.Out Of Bounds is a concept which started as a live improvisational piece when Snakestyle and Sweetleaf (aka Matthew Leigh Embleton and Chris Jordan) were in school during the early 1990s. The pair were influenced by early pioneers of ambient electronica such as Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, etc, without the luxury of pre-programming or using looped melodies everything was played live using about three keyboards each.Since 2007, the tapes of these original performances began to re-surface from Sweetleafs archives. From 20 minutes down to 5 minute versions, each piece featured different improvised themes and melodies. The Out of Bounds EP is the re-discovery of the piece and concept years on, taking the original tapes as a partial reference whilst adding other influences they have picked up over the years from their completely different musical journeys.This reworking has a modern chilled out electronic sound in mind, and since it seems to evolve almost organically the more they work with it... there is a strong possibility this collaboration concept will be re-visited at a later date, truly going OUT OF BOUNDS.
